The Lake Laurentian Conservation Area is a scenic natural area located about a 30 minute bicycle ride from downtown Sudbury. Easily accessible by bicycle, the area offers 2,415 acres (950 hectares) of protected green space. Imagine the remote tranquility of a wilderness setting, a man-made lake and pond, scenic lookouts, a self-guided nature trail, numerous wetland areas, hiking trails, bird watching areas, and snow shoeing and cross-country ski trails in winter. Our trails can be cycled on all year round on a fat bike, gravel bike or mountain bike. A popular cycling route that runs through the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area, along a section of the Trans Canada Trail and Moonlight Beach Trail, is the Lake Ramsey circle route. The Lake Laurentian Conservation Area offers the photographer, nature watcher, and recreationist boundless opportunity to experience the wilds.

Maxwell Pottery produces a wide variety of colourful functional stoneware pottery. Each piece starts as a ball of clay. Using strong stoneware, all work is thrown on the pottery wheel, hand built or pressed. With his own recipe of glaze colours, potter Daniel Maxwell, hand paints each piece in any one of his many unique designs. All work is microwave, dishwasher and oven safe and is lead-free. We are best known for our Canoe on a Lake dip set created in 1995. Come tour our studio enroute to the majestic Eau Claire Gorge and pristine Algonquin Park. Located on the beautiful Northwest Bay of Lake Nipissing, Panorama Camp has fully equipped 2 and 3 bedroom cottages along with 49 camp sites. Each cottage has a three or four piece bath, electric heat, stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and gas BBQ. We provide all bed linens, blankets and all kitchen and eating utensils. The campsites are large and shaded. 33 have 3-way hook-ups and 16 have 2-way. We have a natural sandy beach, boat/motor rental, ramp/dockage, great fishing for walleye, pike, musky, bass, perch and fall hunting for waterfowl, moose and deer . Science North is a hands-on, immersive science centre with a fun and enthusiastic approach to science education. The Bluecoats (real scientists and science communicators) help to make visits more enjoyable, and also ensure that visitor interactions with exhibits and live animal ambassadors are more informative. Science North also features an IMAX® theatre, digital Planetarium, butterfly gallery and Special Exhibits Hall.

Science North maintains a bicycle shelter, located just 75 feet front the main entrance, and accommodates 18 bicycles with 36 inch spacing between the racks providing plenty of room. The shelter is closed on 3 sides with tempered glass walls and has an aluminum roof. Also located in the shelter is a manual foot pump along with a bicycle repair station equipped with the tools you need for any required repairs.

The mountain bike trails are located in the Walden Trails off Municipal Road 55 in Naughton, which is in the west end of the City of Greater Sudbury. The terrain is rolling to moderately hilly, with numerous rock outcrops, typical of the Precambrian Shield found across Northern Ontario. The trails are cut to take advantage these features. The 17 km of single track trails are maintained by the Walden Mountain Bike Club. They are open in early June once they dry out and close as early as Oct 15th. Some of the lower trails hold the moisture, so wait 6-hours after a heavy rain. The rock, roots and bridge sections can be slippery during a rain and for a while after, so this is another time to avoid using the trails. The trails can remain open after Oct 15th when conditions remain dry, so watch our website end-of-season updates.
