The best way to experience and enjoy the magic of the 1000 Islands is to go on one of the local boat tours which offer cruises around the Islands, including Boldt Castle, Singer Castle, Millionaires Row, Tom Thumb Island, stately summer homes as well as romantic evening dinner cruises.
The area is also known as a great place for diving the many shipwrecks found among the 1000 Islands. The Capricorn Motel Royale is diver friendly and it is not uncommon to see divers walking to and from the nearby dock.
A bicycle path on the north side of the 1000 Island Parkway stretches forty kilometers from Gananoque to Brockville, providing a beautiful view of the 1000 Islands waterfront. There are many additional trails in the area & we can provide secure indoor bicycle storage for guests.

For Cyclist our road is part of a recognised Cycle route, there are many cycle routes in our area for all levels of cyclists. Besides excellent accommodation, we have safe storage for bicycles, tool kits, water and rags to wash the bikes, we can even dry those wet clothes over night and prepare a packed lunch for the next days journey

Chesley’s Inn was built in 1814 by a veteran of the War of 1812, Alsaints Chesley. It offers cyclists secure storage. There are three bed and breakfast rooms in the main Inn. Each has an ensuite bath with a rain forest shower. Breakfasts offered include locally grown organic food wherever possible. Even our bacon is traditionally smoked Berkshire pork from a nearby organic farm. Eggs are farm fresh and there is always an assortment of healthier options including fresh fruit, yogurt and granola. There is also “The Innkeeper’s Quarters” which is a self-contained two-bedroom apartment with kitchen, bath, living room, private entrance and a patio in the yard. The Quarters are perfect for two couples wishing to share. The Inn is in the heart of Old Cornwall, a block from the cycle path and a block from a wide range of restaurants, sidewalk cafes and a full service cycle shop. The tourist office, which is half a block away, has cycling maps and advice for those wishing to explore the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. The Cornwall Community Museum is operated by the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Historical Society. Representing one of the earliest settlements in the province of Ontario, we are devoted to preserving, protecting, and sharing all aspects of the Cornwall and United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry’s history and heritage. We are located just west of the head to the Riverside Bike Trail (Cornwall Civic Complex) in Lamoureux Park, with access to a bike rack, bottle refill station, and public washrooms on-site. Our staff are also prepared and happy to assist you by providing directions or even suggestions to fill out your itinerary. We manage a vast collection of artifacts, many of which are on display here at the Cornwall Community Museum, located within the historic Wood House in Lamoureux Park, Cornwall. Our exhibits are generally organized by theme – e.g., the founding of Cornwall and SDG, local productions, industry, commerce, textiles, community service, health care, etc. Furthermore, we manage an elaborate archive of historic documents, books, and photographs available for research purposes.

Here you will find knowledgeable, bilingual staff to provide suggestions, and direct you to where you need to go.
