B!KE: The Peterborough Community Cycling Hub
B!KE: The Peterborough Community Cycling Hub is a non-profit organization that promotes cycling as a healthy, responsible, and viable form of transportation and recreation. We achieve this aim by providing a host of educational programs that assist community members in the development of mechanical and cycling skills. B!KE provides a welcoming space for community members from diverse backgrounds to utilize a fully-equipped bicycle repair workshop.
Members are encouraged to develop mechanical skills through positive and constructive support from knowledgeable volunteer mechanics. B!KE offers group rides, bicycle maintenance workshops, as well as public and workplace cycling skills courses, in an effort to foster safe and enjoyable cycling. Additionally, we aspire to support cycling in the Peterborough community by reconditioning donated bicycles, making them safe and affordable. Overall, we aim to encourage the use of bicycles as a viable form of transportation by providing hands-on learning opportunities that build competency, agency, and self-reliance.
