Downtown Carleton Place Business Improvement Association is proud to be a certified member of the Ontario by Bike Network.
The Carleton Place Welcome Centre & The Roy Brown Museum is our official Bike Welcome Centre. Located at the historic Moore House at 170 Bridge Street. Here you will find public washrooms, tourism information, emergency bike kit, first aid kit, and access to our municipal docks, perfect for a mid bike swim or just to put your feet in the water. They are open Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday-Sunday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For additional information, please visit the Town of Carleton Place Website.
Additional bike stops in Downtown Carleton Place are our shops, our restaurants, and parks. Our Town Hall Square has spots for picnics, Market Square, especially on Farmer’s Market Saturdays: May to October, 7:00 am -1:00 pm, and Carleton Junction where you will find the community’s cherished pump track, an additional bike repair kit, and more public washrooms.
Carleton Junction was home to the Carleton Place train yard, in fact, if you look to the left of the pump track you will see the historic roundhouse.

Furnace Room Brewery is the only micro-brewery in Georgetown, ON. Manitoulin Brewing Company is the product of a couple of adventurous, interesting and fun-loving guys from Northern Ontario. They’ve been around, swam with the sea turtles, lived the concrete jungle and wrestled with alligators. Or so they’ve said.
The historic Thompson-Perkins Mill is a prominent landmark within the LeBreton Flats area and the Ottawa River islands. The heritage building was one of the first grist mills to be built at the Chaudière Falls, and is the oldest surviving stone mill building in Ottawa. Built in 1842, the mill pays homage to the rich Canadian history of brewing, as brewery and distillery operations have flourished in the vicinity of the Flats and Chaudière Island over centuries. The site and building offer unique views of the Capital, attractive access to the Ottawa River and exemplify the history and industrial heritage of Canada’s Capital Region.
Mudtown is a brewery and restaurant in the historic CPR train station in the harbour in Owen Sound. We are certified eat local, with a delightful mix of vegetarian and meat lover options. Full compliment of beer brewed on site, with a full bar hosting local ciders and so much more. Eat on our lovely patio, in the old CPR waiting room/dinning room or the bar which captures the history of the Saints and Sinners of Owen Sound’s past. Easy to find, we are at the terminal of the old CPR rail trail!
