Cathcart Campground. . . This unique campground, situated on the banks of the St. Clair River, has an island accessible by a walking bridge for you to enjoy a family picnic by the water as you watch the river traffic (ships, sailboats, motorboats, etc) cruise by. Walk or bike the St. Clair River Trail to the quaint village of Sombra (just a short distance away) with its specialty shopping and car ferry service to Marine City, Michigan. Long Point offers four campground areas in two sections of the park. Almost half of campsites have electrical service. Comfort stations, complete with flush toilets and showers, are located in Turtle Dunes, Monarch’s Rest and Cottonwood Campgrounds. In addition to offering Ontario Parks’ merchandise, you will find a variety of souvenir clothing, camping supplies, activities to entertain young and old, snacks, Pepsi beverages, VanHoutte coffee and ice cream novelties. Firewood and ice are also available at this location. The village of Long Point and town of Port Rowan are located nearby and offer groceries, hardware and many other supplies and services.
MacGregor Point offers well separated and private campsites in three campgrounds. All sites are treed, generous and have a level surface. Radio-free camping is offered in sections of Huron Campground. Campsites are available for reservation and on a first-come, first-served basis year round. Once in the park there are many kilometers to explore by bike, this park is perfect for the cycling family. Reservations are recommended for weekend stays. https://reservations.ontarioparks.com/
Mooretown Campground . . . A scenic, family friendly campground just 15 minutes south of Sarnia, and located just a short walk from the beautiful St. Clair River, with access to a boat ramp less than 1 km. away. As you stroll down the adjacent St. Clair River Trail, you can visit the Mooretown Sports Complex with Jr. Olympic pool, health club, banquet halls and twin ice pads, the Moore Museum or the championship St. Clair Parkway Golf Course, all just a short walk away. Located on the beautiful Northwest Bay of Lake Nipissing, Panorama Camp has fully equipped 2 and 3 bedroom cottages along with 49 camp sites. Each cottage has a three or four piece bath, electric heat, stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and gas BBQ. We provide all bed linens, blankets and all kitchen and eating utensils. The campsites are large and shaded. 33 have 3-way hook-ups and 16 have 2-way. We have a natural sandy beach, boat/motor rental, ramp/dockage, great fishing for walleye, pike, musky, bass, perch and fall hunting for waterfowl, moose and deer . An extremely busy park – Reservations highly recommended at anytime of year. Bike Trail: 14-kilometres. starts with a wooded path from the Park Store to the traffic circle. It then takes over the left side of the one-way Day-Use Road, along the Old Ausable River Channel, and travels through the wooded landscape to Picnic Area 8. The Savanna Trail then continues by turning into the forest once again. This section of the trail follows a wooded path to the Visitor Centre, where it exits the forest and runs along the left shoulder of the road, over the Store Bridge, taking you back to the Park Store. A breathtakingly beautiful park with 10 km of sand beach on the shores of mighty Lake Huron. Extremely rare and fragile Oak Savanna and Coastal Dune Ecosystems with extraordinary biodiversity – over 800 vascular plants, over 300 bird species. Sunsets here are ranked by National Geographic as among the “Top 10 Best in the World”!
