Reconnect with nature over morning coffee on the deck. Marvel as birds, butterflies and dragonflies drop by for a visit. Take a stroll around the large yard and enjoy the beauty of the wonderful perennial gardens. Lounge on the dock and watch the waterfowl frolicking on the millpond, then go for a quiet paddle in the kayak.
In the evening, enjoy cocktails and dinner al fresco on the deck. After the sun goes down, indulge in stargazing or counting fireflies as well as roasting marshmallows over the campfire. The Millpond House is perfect for get-togethers with family and friends. You’ll love all the space both indoors and out as well as the bright and open rooms with easy access to outdoor areas. With the windows open, you’ll enjoy lovely cross breezes through-out the home. This vacation home is located in the hamlet of Milford, and it is tucked away in the trees on the far side of the millpond so it is relatively quiet and private. It’s also conveniently located about 15 minutes from the Sandbanks beaches and less than 15 minutes to Picton where you can shop for your vacation supplies.
Take a drive or walk around the millpond into nearby Milford where you’ll find a general store, bistro, public library, water dam and millpond, and the Milford fairgrounds with children’s play structure. At the fairgrounds, you’ll also find the Saturday Market and Mt Tabor Playhouse with its evening plays and entertainment. A short drive takes you to Vicki’s Veggies for County fresh produce and Black River Cheese Company for cheese and ice cream. While you’re visiting Prince Edward County, take advantage of the wonderful scenery & country roads, sand dunes & beaches, golf courses & fishing, festivals & farm markets that the County offers.
Enjoy a day of tasting and discovery at local wineries and fine dining establishments. Visit the museums, theatre, art galleries, artisans, and antique shops that abound. You won’t want to leave and you’ll definitely want to return!
