As the cultural centre and tourist heart of the Village of St. Jacobs, the Three Sisters Cultural Center focuses mainly on experiential activities where visitors interact with artists in their studios, participate in workshops, enjoy the art in the gallery and attend our varied events. We support tourism in Waterloo Region in every possible way, as such we create a welcoming environment for tourists and participate in BIA events and destination development work the Township engages in with support from other key destinations and Explore Waterloo.
Recently, we built a bike shelter, with secure bike racks, that is easily accessed from the road. The area surrounding St. Jacobs has several cycle trails and Explore Waterloo has developed maps and information about routes which are shared with visitors to Three Sisters. In June every year, the BT700 cycle event launches its “Grand Depart” from the St. Jacobs and Three Sisters now hosts their social event the evening before which brings together the bikepacking community. We host cyclists all season and support the Tasting House next door organize lunches for them on our deck as well as provide them with all needed facilities.
The Grand River Transit operates into in St. Jacobs, and Bus 21 offers bike racks so cyclists can travel with their bike into the beautiful countryside to enjoy the endless cycle routes. The Three Sisters Centre supports an active lifestyle with the opportunity for cyclists to learn about the arts and culture in the area. We welcome the opportunity to become Ontario by Bike certified so we can support cyclists as they travel through the area and they are aware Three Sisters is a place for them to rest and get back on the trail.
