The Lake Laurentian Conservation Area is a scenic natural area located about a 30 minute bike ride from downtown Sudbury. Easily accessible by bike, the area offers 2,415 acres (950 hectares) of protected green space. Imagine the remote tranquillity of a wilderness setting, a man-made lake and pond, scenic lookouts, a self-guided nature trail, numerous wetland areas, hiking trails, bird watching areas, and snow shoeing and cross-country ski trails in winter. Our trails can be biked on all year round on a fat bike, gravel bike or mountain bike. A popular biking route that runs through the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area, along a section of the Great Trail, is the Lake Ramsey circle route. The Lake Laurentian Conservation Area offers the photographer, nature watcher, and recreationist boundless opportunity to experience the wilds.
The cabin can be rented as described or within a mountain biking package. This includes a 2 night stay at the cabin and a 1/2 day guided mountain biking tour with Red Pine Tours. Check out the dates for the package on our website.
Norm’s Cabin is a remote cabin that can only be accessed by biking or hiking the 8km trail. It is situated on Bone Lake with access to over 100km of trails. Gear, supplies and water will be transported in for guests. At the cabin there is a propane stove, fridge and lights as well as dishes, cutlery, pots and pans. Linens, and basic supplies such as dish soap and garbage bags are also supplied. Although there is no running water nor access to the internet, the lake has only one other cabin on it and it is rare to encounter anyone else in the area. The cabin is on the Stokely Creek Lodge cross country ski network and as such offers over 100kms of double track riding. There is also a single track trail maintained by the local cycling club. It is the perfect getaway to reconnect with nature.
