Tall Tree Cycles is Ottawa’s premier bicycle boutique owned and operated by Thom Johnson and Will Ficner. While Tall Tree carries most of the trappings of a normal bicycle shop, we also specialize in hard-to-find items, and we work on all sorts of unusual bicycles.
Our team will provide you with the best knowledge and service available period! We do have quite a large knowledge base, and we won’t feed you a load of bull if we don’t know the answer to your questions. We would much rather do the research and find you the correct answer. Sometimes this can take a little bit of time, especially if you are looking for an obscure part or bit of information. But bear with us we will do our utmost to get you what you need.
Started in a garage in Westboro, Tall Tree migrated to a small car garage bay, and now we have moved to a much larger former auto-body garage. Seems like we just can’t get away from the garage!
Where did that name come from? Well, it’s quite simple really. While sitting around at the original garage and brainstorming, a lot of silly names were thrown around while looking down on us were a number of rather tall trees. The rest is history. We are pleased that the odd name seems to get remembered among the numerous generic bicycle store names out there.
Will and Thom are also the creators and designers of Steelwool Bicycles – which can be found at Tall Tree and other fine bicycle shops across Canada.
