Ottawa Backpackers Inn was started in 2000 by Martin Jones, who comes from a family of hostel owners. An independent hostel staffed by young travelers, we pride ourselves on being the friendliest hostel in Ottawa… you’ll feel just like you’re staying at a friend’s place.
We’re located only a 2 minute walk to Byward Market, 10 minute walk to the Art Gallery and a 15 minute walk to both the Rideau Canal and Parliament so it’s easy to explore. We also offer our guests a special OBI map which gives staff recommendations for the best places to go to in Ottawa, and gets you discounts on many of the places listed.
