Craigleith Manor has been carefully renovated to create a welcoming Bed & Breakfast in which you can restore, re-energize, and reinvigorate. For active adult guests looking for a comfortable and cyclist friendly environment, the Manor’s location in Collingwood at the heart of Grey-Bruce-Simcoe County offer access to some of Ontario’s best cycling routes. Walk off the back of our property and ride away on the Georgian Trail. We are a member of the Cycle & Stay South Georgian Bay Bed & Breakfasts offering packaged B&B cycle tours. Guy Laporte, one of the B&B owners, owned a bicycle store in Windsor with his family for 25 years volunteering to operate cycle tours for the Windsor Bicycle Club and serving on its executive committee. We know cycling and the needs of cyclists.

Guests have access to the large livingroom, diningroom, reading areas and extensive private gardens on an estate lot of almost one acre. The property connects directly to the Georgian Trail for excellent access to a large network of trails for walking, hiking or biking. Hot and cold nutritous breakfasts are served daily in the sunny diningroom or on the deck weather permitting. Enclosed and secure bicycle storage on site.

A naval and military past Discovery Harbour traces its roots back to the original British naval and military base in Penetanguishene, built to safeguard access to Upper Canada after the War of 1812. \”His Majesty’s Naval Establishment on Lake Huron\”, (as it was first called) kept ships prepared to supply British posts to the northwest. By 1820, it was home to over 70 people, including sailors, officers, shipwrights, and soldiers. Five large ships, 15 smaller vessels, and numerous workshops and dwellings were built. In 1828, a British garrison on Drummond Island was relocated to Penetanguishene. By 1834, Canada was defended exclusively by these forces. An impressive stone Officers’ Quarters was built in 1845. The military occupied the site until 1856.

A secure storage room for bike storage. We have four suites available, a King, Queen, Double and a suite with two single beds, all our suites have en-suites or private washrooms. Guests are requested to bring slippers or socks to wear inside the B&B, slippers can also be provided. Please note that we have three family pets that reside at the Inn, two small hypoallergenic dogs and one cat. The family pets do not have access to the bedrooms.
