BIG Slow Roll 2026: Celebrating Community Through Cycling

The BIG Slow Roll is a community-focused, 10 km social bike ride taking place during Sarnia BIG Bike Week (June 8–14). Designed for riders of all ages and skill levels, this free event celebrates the joy of cycling through a relaxed, no-pressure group ride. Hosted by the Bluewater Cycling Organization (BCO) and supported by local volunteers, the Slow Roll promotes active living, sustainability, and Sarnia’s growing cycling culture.

Unlike a race or competitive ride, the Slow Roll is all about riding together at an easy pace—taking in the scenery and connecting with others along the way. No special gear is required—just bring your bike, your energy, and a few friends or family members.

The ride begins at 1:30 PM from the Royal Canadian Legion (286 Front St. N., Sarnia), following a scenic route along the St. Clair River waterfront. Participants will ride past the iconic Blue Water Bridge, continue through quiet neighbourhood streets, and make their way into Canatara Park for a relaxed, tree-lined ride and short regrouping stop in a safe, car-free setting.

After exiting the park, riders will retrace the route back toward downtown Sarnia, finishing where the ride began. Live music featured along the route adds to the festive atmosphere and enhances the overall experience for riders of all ages.

Whether you’re riding solo, with friends, or as a family, the BIG Slow Roll offers a welcoming and memorable way to explore Sarnia by bike and be part of a vibrant community celebration. This event proudly supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton. In lieu of a registration fee, participants are encouraged to donate, with all contributions matched by our generous sponsors, making an even greater impact in the community.
