Everesting Cycling Fest 2026
October 3, 2026

The Everesting Cycling Fest is Canada’s largest official one-day Everest Cycling event — a community-focused fundraiser where participants take on repeated climbs of Fifty Road on the Niagara Escarpment in support of New Hope Community Bikes. Riders set their own goal, taking on as much or as little climbing as they like, either solo or as part of a team.
With Fifty Road closed to non-local traffic for the duration of the event, participants enjoy the full lane for a safer, more comfortable riding experience. Expect a well-organized course, on-site support, rest areas, a complimentary lunch, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.
Event highlights:
- Flexible challenge format: Set your own elevation goal, from a single ascent (76 m) to a full Everesting (8,848 m). Everest, give or take.
- Participation options: Ride solo or as part of a team, with non-climbing group road ride options also available.
- Scenic location: Climb the Niagara Escarpment on one of Hamilton’s most well-known cycling routes, with ~89 m of elevation gain per lap.
- Road closure: Fifty Road is closed to non-local traffic for a safer riding environment.
- Fundraising component: Ride in support of New Hope Community Bikes, a Hamilton-based charity working to expand access to cycling through education, affordable bicycles, and repair programs.
