Tour de T1D

The Tour de T1D is a large scale charity ride to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes. The inaugural ride took place in 2018 and we are hoping to make this event a favourite among cycling fans.
Riding in the fall on the beautiful roads of Oro-Medonte lets riders from the casual to the elite explore various routes and take in the beautiful autumn colours. The 25, 50 and 100K road routes increase in challenge as the area boasts many rolling hills. This year, we are adding a trail ride for those who are not comfortable with the roads or find the climbs too challenging. The trail route will also permit young riders getting into the sport to ride on the trails of Horseshoe Valley in the Copeland forest.
Like many other charity rides, riders are expected to raise funds. This year, as per the last few years, the money raised is directed at the Royal Victoria Hospital Youth Diabetic Clinic. This clinic is a fantastic and energetic organization where dedicated professionals are committed to improving the lives of every youth with Diabetes. So much care, compassion and education are devoted to the child and their family.
We look forward to have you join the local cycling community and help make the Tour de T1D an annual event on every cyclist’s calendar.
