Regional Cycling Events

Below you'll find a list of 2018 cycling events that feature Ottawa and countryside destinations. You'll also find a link to the cycling resources found throughout the region.

June

NOKIA Sunday Bikedays – From the end of May to the beginning of September, every Sunday morning, over 50km of roads in the heart of Ottawa and nearby Gatineau Park are closed to motor vehicles and open for cyclists, in-line skaters, runners and pedestrians.

The Petite Adventure - Desjardins – June 30 to July 2 - This 3 day, 2 night self guided camping tour features an original route in French-speaking Ontario, through the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, located about an hour from Montréal and Ottawa.

July

Kinburn Kermesse – Starting in July, held bi-weekly, these lap events total either 45 or 60km in Ottawa and incorporate both paved and gravel surfaces. Gravel or cyclo-cross bikes are recommended but not required. This most certainly can be done on a road bike.

GranFondo Ottawa - Reggio Capitale - July 21 - Get the European-inspired "Big Ride" experience in the Ottawa Valley with fiestas before, during, and after the ride. Relaxed non-competitive options include 65 and 100 km or opt for the 180 or 235 km Gran and Supr Fondos with timed sections. All rides are fully supported.

August

PwC MS Bike Tour - Ottawa to Cornwall - August 18-19 - PwC MS Bike is the largest cycling series in North America. Since 1989, cyclists of all ages and fitness levels fundraise and cycle together to end Canada’s disease. This unique event series provides Canadians with the opportunity to ride through scenic and often spectacular parts of the country. Join cyclists on a total 80-215km, 2-day fully supported tour from Ottawa to Cornwall.

Cycle for Sight / MEC Ottawa Century Ride – August 19 - Choose from three well marked routes including both 50km and 100km options or the new adventure gravel grind! Set off from Ottawa and settle in to a day of lovely riding in Lanark County for a fully supported one-day ride for experienced and novice cyclists.

September

The Ride - September 9 - Join cyclists in Ottawa raising funds for cancer research and at The Ottawa Hospital Fundraiser. Pick from two routes, 50km (closed route) or 108km, starting and ending in Tunney's Pasture.

The Beau's Oktoberfest Bike Ride - September 22 - Cycle from Bourget, Ottawa or Cornwall to Beau’s Oktoberfest in Vankleek Hill to raise money for the United Way Ottawa and United Way SD&G’s “All That Kids Can Be” programs. The United Way’s “All That Kids Can Be” program ensures that kids in at-risk neighbourhoods have access to critical programming such as homework clubs and summer camps.
