Below you'll find a list of 2018 cycling events that feature Northern Ontario`s destinations. You'll also find a link to the cycling resources found throughout the region.


Manitoulin Passage Ride - June 2-3 - Head to Manitoulin Island for the 8th Annual Manitoulin Passage Ride. Enjoy a Free Ferry Crossing on this 2 day fully supported ride. Saturday night supper and dance, Sunday lunch with music, roadside snacks and insurance all included. details see www.manitoulincycling.com 

West Nipissing Cycle for Charity - June 3 - Head out to West Nippissing and make a difference with funds providing bikes for children in need. Enjoying 1 of 3 routes from Sturgeon Falls, following a portion of the Voyageur Cycling Route, currently under development.

Sault Trails Fest - June 10 - Sault Trails Fest is a celebration of all things bikes and trails!! Our goal is to inspire people to get outside, have fun in the outdoors and enjoy trails in the Sault.

Rediscover Cycling Festival (North Bay) - June 17 - Experience the joys of cycling, while learning new skills and participating in fun activities. Mechanics, bike shops, vendors and more!

Ride Don't Hide - Sault Ste. Marie - June 24 - Starting off from Algoma University`s “Speak Easy”, sign up for the 5, 25 or 50km routes featured on this year`s event

Ride Don't Hide - Cochrane Timiskaming - June 24 - Starting off from Northern College in Kirkland Lake, enjoy 10km, 30km, 65km or the 100km routes featured on this year`s event

Ride Don't Hide - Sudbury - June 24 - Starting off from Science North in Sudbury, enjoy 10km, 25km, or the 50km routes featured on this year`s event.


Hub Trail Festival – July 1 - This FREE non-competative event is aimed at encouraging community residents and visitors to discover the benefits of using this 24km multi-use non-motorized trail system that connects many significant points of interest throughout the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

Sudbury Fitness Challenge Mountain Bike Tour - July 22 - Bring out your mountain bike and join this annual event, supporting family, fun, and fitness at a recreational level for people of all ages and skill levels (from newbie to experienced). The goal of the race is to encourage physical fitness and healthy living in the spirit of competition! Distances from 350m to 20 km. All the information for Racers and Volunteers is at HERE


Crank the Shield - August 17 to 19 - Crank the Shield moves from it’s Haliburton roots northward! Sault Ste. Marie/Algoma Country and has all the ingredients to reignite the passion of all those who have CRANKED the Shield! This 3-day staged ride includes a heritage train trip to the start, riding back through Ontario's backcountry!


Alvar Treasure Rides - During the first two weeks of September, join this all inclusive cycling vacation on beautiful Manitoulin Island. 5 day riding 4 nights stay with multiple km routes available each day. Details www.manitoulincycling.com

Caribou Charity Ride - September 9 - Join the 9th annual Caribou Charity Ride. Cyclists can choose between a 50, 75 or a 100km ride. The ride is for everyone from the average weekend warrior to accomplished cyclists. The meeting point is the Nor'Wester Resort Hotel at 2080 Highway 61 and both rides will travel through Oliver Paipoonge Township near Thunder Bay, Ontario.
